Bat Mitzvah girl

Israel offers so many terrific Bat Mitzva celebration possibilities!  If you are planning an event in the warmer months, evening parties lend themselves to the outdoors, in a natural setting, under the stars.  The Anna Ticho House, located in the heart of Jerusalem, has a beautiful tiered garden that is suitable for both large and small parties (they also have a smaller indoor space as well). Taverna, Beit Shmuel, and Mul Hahar all have both indoor and outdoor options and offer spectacular panoramic views of Jerusalem. Shulchan David on Mt. Zion has loads of “Old City” charm and offers both meat and dairy menus. Between the Arches, a smaller dairy venue located right next to the kotel, is perfect for smaller groups of up to 60 people.

For the adventurous at heart, you can incorporate extreme sports into your event such as jeeping, ziplining, rappelling, or a rope park. For a slightly tamer but still interesting experience, you can celebrate your bat mitzvah event in a Bedouin tent complete with camel rides and pita baking. Or, your daughter and guests can experience what it was like to be a woman during biblical times at Ein Yael Biblical Museum .  If the Bat Mitzvah girl enjoys helping out in the kitchen, maybe she would like her guests to participate in a biblical cooking contest at Neot Kedumim as part of her celebration. Wherever you celebrate, you can add a fun, educational element by bringing in biblical characters from the past or re-enacting a time and place in Jewish history. You may want to consider a special bat mitzvah tour and program led by an all-woman team of tour guides who promise to make the bat mitzvah in Israel experience fun, educational, and memorable for all.

You can also add fun, exciting components to your party such as make-your-own stuffed animals, a caricaturist, hair braiding, and nail art. In addition to traditional music, many musicians also run party games at a Bat Mitzvah party such as limbo, musical chairs, etc. that kids really love. For the artistically inclined, we recommend a wood painting workshop or a paper cutting workshop.  Or you can hire an Israeli dance instructor to keep your female guests moving throughout the event.

If your daughter likes Michal Negrin, Gilmor Events will produce a sparkly, floral fantasyland beyond her wildest dreams (and yours!). For a really cool look, you can use projection lighting. You can decorate the party area with balloon decorations or flowers.  For something different, you can use "sweet flowers", an integration of hand-made flowers and candies, which work well either as table centerpieces or as party favors.  For place cards/party favors, consider a chocolate rose. You can also give out personalized magnetic party favors or custom printed keychains. Many party favors can be personalized for your event. A really cute party favor is a big lollipop with the Bat Mitzvah girl's edible picture on it, or chocolates with custom wrappers. And don't forget about promotional clothing party favors like shirts, bags, and sweatshirt blankets.

Make sure to check out our section on places to stay and things to do, and don't forget to order hotel room gift baskets or hostess gifts!  If you need help making hotel arrangements, hiring buses, etc, we work with some great tour operators. And consider hiring a tour guide to take you and your extended family sightseeing together--it's a great experience.
